6 teams start bid in UFO caging

Six more teams are set to make their debuts in the Open Division of the United Filipino Organization IT&E 2019 Basketball League this weekend at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.
This Saturday, The Game will take on Pacific Islands Club in the curtain raiser at 4pm, while HRP will battle Gilas Batang in the second match at 6pm. In the third game at 7:30pm, RNV Construction will debut against the Hoopaholics.
For the Sunday schedule, Lakay and Toyota will collide in the lone Open Division game at 6pm, while two matches in the Masters will take place. In the first game at 4pm, Old School will face PP Gen, while in the third match at 7:30pm, it will be JNS versus Saipan Vegas.
Lakay and Toyota both dropped their opening games so they are hoping to bounce back quickly. Blue Eagle defeated Lakay, 104-64, last Saturday, while Islander Rent A Car topped AK Toyota last Sunday, 96-57.
Meanwhile, four more teams played their first game in the UFO caging with Shirley’s Coffee Shop squaring off against Saipan Vegas MJD in the Open Division last night and Pacific Marine Shop meeting IT&E in the Masters Division. Results of these matches will be reported in Saipan Tribune’s Monday edition.
