Rental car parked at AMP is burglarized
An unknown burglar or group of burglars has victimized a rental car that was parked at the American Memorial Park in Garapan last Monday. Department of Public Safety officers are now looking into the case.
Police received a 911 call reporting the burglary incident on Monday, Dec. 2, 2019, at about 6:02pm.
Police dispatched to the scene met with the caller, who stated that their group had parked their rental car, a red Ford Mustang, in the parking lot of the American Memorial Park for a few hours before returning back. The victims mentioned that they parked their vehicle at about 10:30am and returned at 4:30pm. That’s when the victims noticed that their bags were no longer in the vehicle. They notified their rental car company before calling for police assistance.
The items reported missing include a black backpack, a silver-colored Digno cellphone, a silver-colored Apple MacBook Air laptop, a pink Apple Watch, a brown Berluti wallet, a pair of white Apple AirPods, a red/purple key case, a white tote bag, and one red/purple Cartier wallet, including the victim’s passport and driver’s license.
DPS would like to remind the public to be diligent when purchasing electronics and/or designer wallets from unknown individuals as these items may have been stolen.
