A tropical disturbance forming in Chuuk poses no threat to the CNMI and Guam, according to the National Weather Service in Tiyan, Guam.

Yesterday afternoon, the Joint Typhoon Warning Center issued a Tropical Cyclone Formation Alert, Invest Area 95W. This means the potential for the development of a significant tropical cyclone (tropical depression) within the next 24 hours is high.

As currently forecast, 95W will track westward through Chuuk and Yap states, passing well south of Guam. This will be the only Weather-Ready Nation Weather Alert for Guam and the CNMI regarding the disturbance near Chuuk.
