Free training on the power of marketing
To highlight the power of marketing in business, the CNMI Small Business Development Center is teaming up with the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library in Susupe for a training on Dec. 10, Tuesday, that will teach participants how to sell their product.
After its four-week collaboration in November with the CNMI Women’s Association to teach women how to start up a business, SBDC welcomes the new month with “The Power of Marketing,” a webinar series that will be hosted by SBDC partner Constant Contact, from 9am to 11am of Dec. 10.
“We invite the public to come,” said SBDC director Nicole Babauta. “It is a webinar series hosted by Constant Contact and also offers participants a 60-day free trial, so take advantage. We’ll be excited to see how many people will come into the program and say, ‘Hey, I want to start my business.’”
Aside from small business training programs, SBDC has a business consulting and counseling program to provide one-to-one confidential business advice to clients. The center also serves as a one-stop resource center, linking all the tools to make sure people who want to do business can do business.
SBDC also had a lot of success in augmenting the presence of small businesses in the CNMI. Ete Cafe in Garapan, for one, is an SBDC client through previous SBDC director Perry Inos.
“We’ve been able to open Beans and Bags Coffee and Tea in Kagman, Marianas Creations in Garapan,…[and] Forever CNMI in Oleai. [On] Rota, we have Jadie’s Boutique, a woman’s boutique. We service Saipan, Tinian, and Rota. Rufina Tropicals too, is SBDC,” Babauta added.
There are more, but SBDC, being bound by federal guidelines, can only share success stories of businesses that allow them to share.
