Garapan, Koblerville undefeated in v-ball tourney
Garapan Elementary School and Koblerville Elementary School earned unbeaten records in the first round of pool play in the 2019-2020 Public School System Interscholastic Co-ed Elementary Volleyball Tournament.
Garapan posted a 5-0 record in Pool A matches held at the Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School grounds, while Koblerville registered a 3-0 mark in the Pool B games at Oleai Elementary School.
Grace Christian Academy 1 is also in Pool A and finished the first round in second place with its 4-1 record. GCA 2, GTC, and Kagman Elementary School had identical 2-3 slates, while San Vicente Elementary forfeited all five matches in the opener last weekend.
The Mallards defeated GCA 2 in their first game, 25-13, and downed GTC in the second, 25-3. Garapan took another easy win in its third game after dominating GCA 1, 25-10, and then outclassed Koblerville in its last match, 25-17.
In other results in Pool A, GCA 1 prevailed over GTC, 25-7; Koblerville, 25-13; and GCA 2, 25-7. GCA 2 triumphed against Koblerville, 25-4, while the latter won over GTC, 25-17. The host school routed GCA 2, 25-9.
Meanwhile, in Pool B, Koblerville leads William S. Reyes Elementary School (2-1), Oleai (1-2), and Saipan International School (0-3).
Meanwhile, the second round of pool play matches will take place on Dec. 7 with GTC and Oleai still hosting the games. Results of the first two rounds will be used to determine the seeding for the championship round set for Dec. 14 at the Oleai Sports Complex.
