The Tan Siu Lin Foundation has rallied behind the CNMI Women’s Association and its various programs that offer services and assistance to female members of the community.
The foundation, which is the charitable arm of TanHoldings, recently presented CWA with a donation for the group’s inaugural Fun-Raise-Her Dinner, which was held last Friday at the Fiesta Resort and Spa Saipan to raise funds that the association will use to realize its goals and mission.
“CWA was founded to help women become successful leaders, wherever they are, whether they are at home or at work and doing everything they can to have a positive impact on the community and their families,” said CWA program administrator Felicidad Ogumoro.
Ogumoro, along with some members of the CWA board, received the $1,500 donation from TSL Foundation executive director Merlie Tolentino earlier this month at the JP Centre in Garapan.
“We commend CWA for empowering women in our community by providing them with opportunities to work, finish school, and undergo training for both personal and professional developments,” Tolentino said.
Ogumoro said that since they open their doors in 2011, they have helped several women get their GED (High School Equivalency Certificate) and they also assist them in finding jobs. She added that corporate sponsors like TanHoldings play a significant role in ensuring the continuity of CWA programs in the face of these challenging times.
“On behalf of CWA board, I would like to extend our gratitude to TanHoldings and the TSL Foundation for helping us realize our mission. Through their help and other corporate sponsors, we are able to remain committed to helping women become successful to fully participate in different phases of development in our community,” Ogumoro said.
