Hit two birds with one stone and take advantage of lunch and dinner buffets available every day at the newly opened Mermaid Restaurant located on Middle Road across the Mobil gas station for only $12.

Aside from the affordability, Mermaid Restaurant is the only restaurant on island that serves unlimited Hong Kong-style milk tea, milk shakes, and scrumptious desserts like pastries and cookies and ice cream.

The Hong Kong-style milk teas cost only $3 and comes with taro or black pearls and are served fresh as they cook their own pearls.

Their buffet spread carries Chamorro, Filipino, Chinese, American, and Italian food items including freshly made pizza and their cakes and pastries are also freshly baked by their in-house chefs.

Mermaid Restaurant’s milk tea taro are freshly made and from authentic ingredients imported from Hong Kong.

According to owner Peter Fong, the concept of the restaurant was borne out of his observations around the island.

“Whenever my family and I go out to eat, we always go for buffet style but more often than not, hotel buffets are good from appetizers to desserts, but are in the high-price range. On the other hand, there are buffets in the low-price range but doesn’t much have food items that caters to children especially pastries for desserts,” he said.

“Mermaid Restaurant is the combination of all that—a good buffet selection from appetizers, soups, main dishes to desserts, and it won’t break one’s wallet because both lunch and dinner buffets go for only $12 and children under 2 years old and below 1.2 meters (3’9”) tall are free,” he added.

Mermaid Restaurant also wants to establish itself as a place where people can come to enjoy a good time.

“This restaurant is for everyone—family, school children. and even professionals and employees… anyone can enjoy our buffet and ala carte menu especially our coffee, and two kinds of milk tea…” Fong said.

“We are also open to company meetings and family celebrations as we have three VIP rooms that they can reserve. We also have a big screen in the middle of the restaurant that plays movies and can also be used for karaoke,” Fong added.

Since Mermaid Restaurant has an in-house baker, people can avail of their ready-to-order cakes and pastries or have one made via order.

Fong said they named the restaurant Mermaid Restaurant to give an island feel and is relatable for everybody. “Aside from being family friendly, I would like to call ourselves as community friendly with our good food and reasonable prices.”

Mermaid Restaurant is open from Monday to Sunday 11am to 10:30pm. Lunch buffet is served from 11am to 2pm and dinner buffet is served from 5:30pm to 8:30pm.
