Learn how to become a fed contractor/vendor

The Guam Procurement Technical Assistance Center is offering a series of free workshops this month that will teach participants about how to become a federal contractor or vendor.

The workshops run from 9am to 10am at the University of Guam in the Jesus and Eugenia Leon Guerrero Business and Public Administration Building, Margarita Perez & Jaime Tuquero IT&E Lecture Hall, Room 131(unless otherwise specified):

Nov. 13—Meet Your Link to Finding Individuals with Disabilities and Veterans: Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act requires federal contractors to take affirmative action to recruit, hire, promote, and retain individuals with disabilities. VEVRAA requires federal contractors to take affirmative action to recruit, hire and promote veterans. Philip Marlowe of OFCCP, Phyliss Leon Guerrero of DISID, and Paris Blas of Citizen Soldier for Life will discuss these requirements and where federal contractors can find assistance to stay in compliance. 9am – 11:30am, Room 129

Nov. 14—Updating Your SBA Profile and Navigating the “Dynamic Small Business Search” – Your “Small Business Administration Profile” is a great marketing tool. The Guam PTAC will show you how to set up and update your profile. The DSBS is SBA’s database of small businesses. We will show you how to use it to help your company succeed in government contracting.

Nov. 21—FedBizOpps and NECO: Where to Find Government Solicitations: Federal government opportunities greater than $25,000 are posted on FedBizOpps. The U.S. Navy posts opportunities on NECO. The Guam PTAC will provide an overview of FedBizOpps and NECO, how to navigate the websites, and how to set up automated searches.

Nov. 27—Developing a Capabilities Statement: A Capabilities Statement is an essential marketing tool for government contracting. The Guam PTAC will explain how to create a CS and what information should be included to improve your chances of winning a government contract.

For project management professionals, Guam PTAC workshops may count toward your annual professional development unit goals.
