Joeten 1 clobbered Coca- Cola, 115-49, while MJD Construction hammered CTSI/TanHoldings 2, 126-105, in the 2018 JP World Corp. Customer Appreciation Basketball League last Saturday at the Gillette Multipurpose Gymnasium.

Joeten 1 had the game in the bag right at the end of the first quarter after exploding for 31 points against Coca-Cola’s mere 5 markers.

Patrick Rotap led Joeten 1’s backbreaking assault in the first period after scoring 9 points. Chris Lilles contributed 7, Moises Jacob added 5, and Ernest Duenas, Sydney Quan, and Alex Lauron combined for 8, as Joeten 1 demolished Coca-Cola, whose 5 markers all came from Mel Capalad.

Despite enjoying a commanding 26-point lead, Joeten 1 played no let up in the second period to pull away further at halftime, 52-20. Again, Joeten 1 ran a balance offense in the second canto to pad its lead, while Coca-Cola still relied on Capalad.

When the game resumed, Joeten 1 delivered the killer blows after scoring 30 and 33 points in the third and fourth quarters.

Jacob led six Joeten 1 players in double figures after posting 25 points. Rotap finished with 21, while Lauron added 18. Lilles, Vincent Teregeyo, and Ernest Duenas registered 16, 13, and 12, respectively. Capalad had 34 points to pace Coca-Cola.

In another one-sided game, MJD Construction caught fire in the first half to set the stage for the rout.

MJD Construction had 30 and 33 markers in the first and second periods, as it more than doubled TanHoldings 2/CTSI’s output in the first half, 63-30.

Freddie Pelisamen anchored MJD’s attack in the first half after making 26 points in the opening 20 minutes of play.

After being outgunned in the first half, TanHoldings 2/CTSI tried to catch up in the third quarter, firing 46 markers. However, MJD Construction countered, registering 45 to keep its wide distance, 108-76.

The 32-point margin after three quarters was enough for MJD Construction to ease its way to victory despite being held to 18 in the final frame.
Pelisamen top-scored for MJD Construction with his 46 points, while Mico Usi added 22. Ramsa Tenepere had 37 for TanHoldings 2/CTSI, while Lawrence Deleon Guerrero logged 32.
