GCA students pray for other countries in Parade of Nations

Grace Christian Academy ended its annual mission convention last week with a Parade of Nations at the GCA chapel last Friday.
School principal Beth Nunez said the Parade of Nations enables each of the school’s grades to pray for a country of their choice. Nunez said the goal is for students to look beyond themselves and understand the needs outside of themselves, and care about other countries and other people.
This year’s convention theme was “Every Tribe, Every Nation.”
The Parade of Nations featured the following countries: South Korea, Japan, the Bahamas, Australia, Greece, Papua New Guinea, China, India, Spain, Russia, Mexico, Ireland, France, and Brazil. Each country was selected by the grade levels and were showcased through performances and fashion shows.
Nunez said the first graders impressed her the most, as their presentation on the Bahamas shows that they care for a country that is currently recovering from a devastating hurricane, just like Saipan did after Super Typhoon Yutu. “It is more than showing the traditional costumes, as students learned about their countries and prayed for them as well,” she said.
