Community supports Ukulele Festival
Due to the tremendous support from the local community and Korean ukulele performers, the Marianas Ukulele Festival, held last Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019, at the Marianas Business Plaza, was a huge success. The fifth annual festival featured professional ukulele masters Blues Lee and his wife, Vivian Kim, along with the Yeong Ju Teacher Ukulele Ensemble from Korea. Local performers included Marvin and Jay, Emi Peter-Palican, Joe Limes, Alana’ia, Da Kine, Jose Carreon, Juan and Keoni Ichihara, Hui Ukulele Club (Marianas High School), the Monkeya Brothers, Selepeo Sisters, Saipan Community School, and the Ukituki Band.
