Triple J defeats CUC

Triple J edged out Commonwealth Utilities Corp., 71-64, in their match in the 2018 JP World Corp. Customer Appreciation Basketball League last Saturday at the Gillette Multipurpose Gymnasium.
Triple J managed to run off with the victory in the fourth quarter, as it scored 24 points, turning a47-52 deficit at the end of the third period to a 7-point winning margin.
Eman Cobacha led Triple J’s comeback in the final canto after making 11 points, 9 of them came from the 3-point area. Cobacha nearly matched the output (12) of the entire CUC crew, as he registered 11 of Triple’s J’s last 12 markers. Kenji Abobo added 6 markers and Perry Inos’ had 4 to back up Cobacha in the fourth period.
Cobacha finished with a game-high 31 points, while Abobo and Inos also had double figures, registering 14 and 13, respectively.
Cobacha waxed hot early, as he tallied 12 points in the first quarter to hand Triple J a 24-18 lead.
However, Triple J lost the upper hand in the second canto when Eugene Manglona and John Nekaifes combined for 17 points for CUC and lifted their team to a 39-37 halftime edge. CUC then stretched the advantage to 5 in the third canto with Manglona firing 10 of his 27 points in the penultimate frame.
Cobacha, who had 18 points in the first half, was held to one field goal in the third frame before redeeming himself in the fourth to help Triple J steal the lead and the victory from CUC.
