CUC to inspect power meters at IPI resort, CPA, others
Electrical engineers of the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. will be inspecting the power meters of major government and commercial customers, including that of the Imperial Pacific Resort in Garapan.
The intent is to make sure that the meters are working correctly and ensure that CUC is capturing correct revenue streams from its high-end electric power users.
CUC executive director Gary P. Camacho informed CUC directors during Thursday’s board meeting that their electrical engineers will also inspect the Commonwealth Ports Authority’s Francisco C. Ada/Saipan International Airport, Kanoa Resort, Triple J’s Comfort Homes, and Triple J’s Sandy Beach Homes.
He did not indicate the dates as to when the inspections will occur.
Camacho said in an effort to address CUC’s technical and non-technical losses along its power distribution system, their electrical engineers will work with their billing department on evaluating CUC’s ability to capture correct billing data of government and commercial electric customers.
He said their electrical engineers will re-evaluate 370 primary metering devices.
He said CUC electrical engineers will verify the Potential Transformers/Current Transformers ratio of primary metering devices and determine whether the devices are capturing the actual power usage of government and commercial customers.
