The 9th Annual Dee Clayton Classic Body Building and Fitness Championship set for tomorrow at the Pacific Islands Club Saipan’s Charley’s Cabaret will see a record field.
Dee Clayton, organizer and founder of the tournament, said that since establishing the event back in 2009, the 28 competitors for this weekend’s contest is their biggest.
She added that the record entry for this year’s Dee Clayton Classic is a sign that the event is becoming popular among the local community and it’s a good thing because the program aims to promote health and wellness in the CNMI.
Clayton said she takes pride in the event’s purpose, which is to motivate men, women, and teens to get fit and healthy. The championship, she added, serves as an event to celebrate the participant’s fitness progress and motivate them to continue in their journey.
This year’s Dee Clayton Classic will feature various categories including, teen body building, teen physique, teen bikini model, teen fitness, teen performance, body building, classic physique, men’s physique, master’s physique, women’s bodybuilding, figure, bikini, fitness, fitness pageant, mixed pairs, and fitness performance. The age of the 28 participants ranges from 16 year olds and up and they are from all walks of life.
The Top 5 in each category will be recognized at the awards ceremony, while the overall winner will be selected from the first placers from each division. The Top 5 winners in each category will receive prizes courtesy of the event’s donors and sponsors.
This weekend’s tournament is supported by Latte Built, Gold’s Gym, Subway, Coca-Cola, Foremost, MARPAC, Rosal/Zest Enterprises, Island Touch by Philip, and Megabyte.
