Jing Song Lin, a 49-year-old storeowner who admitted to groping the breast and buttocks of a 13-year-old girl in 2012, was slapped with a five-year prison sentence on Wednesday.
Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho sentenced Lin to the full maximum of five years in prison, without parole, probation, early release or weekend release, for one count of sexual abuse of a child in the third degree.

Camacho ordered Lin to register as a sex offender.

The judge said as this case involves the sexual abuse of a 13-year-old female child, the court finds the full maximum sentence appropriate and just.

The remaining charges were dismissed as part of the defendant’s plea agreement with the Office of the Attorney General.

After the hearing, Camacho ordered court marshals to immediately took Lin to the Department of Corrections so he could start serving his sentence.

According to a police report prepared by police officer Rudolfo Hermosilla, police officers responded to LF Market in Chalan Kanoa in July 2012 after receiving a call about a sexual assault incident.

According to police, the girl entered the store to buy cookies. Lin offered the girl a soda then hugged her and touched her breast through her clothing.

The surveillance camera in the store caught the incident.
