Military sets trainings

ASAN, Guam—The U.S. Navy will conduct training today, Oct. 7, from 8am to 2pm, at Warning Area 12 and Warning Area 517.

W-12 begins south of Guam and extends south-southwest in international waters. W-12 supports surface and aerial gunnery, missiles, and laser exercises.

W-517 begins south of Guam and extends south-southwest in international waters. Santa Rosa Reef and Galvez Banks will remain closed.

The Navy will conduct open-ocean exercises today, Oct. 7, from 7-11pm, within a 10-nautical-mile radius of the following coordinates: 13˚26”N/145˚08”E and 13˚42”N/144˚36”E.

The Navy will also conduct open-ocean exercises today, Oct. 7, from 8am to 2pm and from 3pm to 5pm, and on Oct. 8, from 4pm to 10pm

Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 25 will conduct training on Oct. 7-10, from 11am to 11:55pm, at the Dandan-Malojloj training site in Inarajan.

HSC-25 will also conduct training on Oct. 10, from 6:30pm to 11pm, in Radio Barrigada.

These types of trainings are designed to enhance the readiness of military personnel. Residents in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity associated with the training. The public should be advised that routine helicopter training often accompanied with the use of blanks can occur during these trainings. from 6:30-11pm. (PR)
