TanHoldings Football Club and Kanoa Football Club coasted past their respective opponents in the girls U16 division of the 2019 NMIFA Fall Youth League last Saturday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.
TanHoldings registered an 8-1 victory over Shirley’s Football Club to remain undefeated in three games. Kanoa matched TanHolding’s 3-0-0 win-draw-loss record following a similar easy triumph over MP United Football Club, 8-3, in the other game in the division.
Paulyn Joyce did the damage for Kanoa after firing six goals, while Lynzey Green and Desiree Decena chipped in one goal apiece.
Green scored right in the opening minute of the match, while it took MP United a while to hit the board as Aubrey Castro made the equalizer in the 27th minute. Joyce’s second goal, posted in the 31st minute, gave the lead back to Kanoa, but MP United ended trying the match at the break, thanks to Audrey Castro’s conversion in the 33rd minute.
At the resumption of the game, Audrey’s sister, Aubrey, found her target in the 36th minute and handed MP United the lead. However, MP United’s stay on top was short-lived, as Joyce took over the rest of the way, making one goal after another. The Kanoa forward scored in the 45th, 52nd, 54th, and 61st minute, while Decena closed out for the team with her shot in the 68th.
In the other match in the division, TanHoldings also blew the game wide open in the second half for its third straight victory.
Tamia Hix anchored TanHoldings’ breakaway in the second half after logging a hat trick. She got her first goal in the 48th minute and the second and third in the 53rd and 60th. Andrei Kaithlyn Chavez, Rizza Relucio, and Jenny Ann Capayas also delivered for TanHoldings in the second half after scoring in the 56th, 62nd, and 64th minute, respectively.
Earlier in the 28th minute, Allyssya Mae Angeles drew first blood for TanHoldings, while Relucio notched her first goal in the 32nd minute for the team’s shaky lead, 2-1.
Shirley’s got its first goal from Joannah Carreon in the 28th minute, while the other one came from Katrina Costales in the 51st.
Shirley’s is winless in three games and hopes to break its losing streak this Saturday when it takes on MP United at 2:30pm. The two other pairings tomorrow will have Southern United battling Kanoa and TanHoldings meeting Matansa.
