Kansa Football Club and TanHoldings Football Club earned contrasting wins in the co-ed U12 division game in the 2019 NMIFA Fall Youth League last Saturday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.
Kanoa recovered from a goal-less first half to nip MP United, 3-2, while TanHoldings hammered Shirley’s FC, 15-3.
Tyler Omelau drilled the game-winner for Kanoa after scoring in the eighth minute of extra time. Rigel Devey and Rooney Gil registered the two other goals for Kanoa with the latter finding the back of the net in the 39th minute to knot the count, 1-all.
Sejun Kim, earlier in the 16th minute, put MP United on the board for the squad’s shaky lead at halftime. MP United eventually lost the driver’s seat, as after Gil forced the deadlock, Devey scored in the 53rd minute to give Kanoa the upper hand, 2-1.
The MP United-Kanoa game then was tied anew when Xavier Lee delivered for the former in the 60th minute. The co-ed U12 match is played in two 30-minute halves, but teams are given extra time for delays and that’s what Kanoa needed to pull off a close win, as Omelau scored in the 68th minute.
In the other game in the division, TanHoldings more than made up for the early goal it yielded to Shirley’s to notch the easy win.
Jurvin Bisek’s goal in the fourth minute allowed Shirley’s to tie the match, but that was it for the team, as TanHoldings dominated the remainder of the game.
Mark Ryan Costales and Jerald Dalawampu fired four goals apiece in TanHldings’ demolition of Shirley’s, while Andrei Kaithlyn Chavez chipped in three. Monico Claridades, Semante Jimenez, and Jared Coby Villagomez had one goal apiece for TanHoldings, which was upped by 5 after the first half, 6-1, and went for the kill in the second, scoring nine more goals.
Shirley’s countered with two goals in the second half, courtesy of Jayvin Bisek’s brace.
BOYS U18
TanHoldings 1, MP United 0
TanHoldings also came out victorious in the curtain-raiser in the boys U18 division last Friday.
Taka Borja recorded the lone goal in the match after hitting his target in the 58th minute.
TanHoldings handed MP United its first loss in three games while getting its second victory after three matches, too. TanHoldings had its first victory over Matansa before drawing Kanoa in Week 2 of the league. MP United also won versus Matansa and prevailed over Kanoa.
Kanoa 3, Matansa 1
Kanoa got its first victory this season after outclassing Matansa in the second game last weekend.
Kanoa delivered all three goals in the first half with Ian Karl Maniago posting back-to-back goals (25th and 26th minute). Jaydee Jose logged the other goal for Kanoa two minutes before the 40-minute first half ended.
Matansa, on the other hand, was the first to score in the game, courtesy of Razeff Altamirano’s goal in the 12th minute.
