A well-known electronics gadget store was burglarized early Tuesday morning. The Department of Public Safety received a 911 call at about 2:25am regarding a burglary and theft incident at the PC Bargain electronic store.

Once officers arrived to the scene, they noticed a breached wooden wall exposing the store and a white shelf was left open with shattered glass on the floor. DPS reports that the items missing from PC Bargain are a Samsung Gear Black Watch, one Samsung S10 Plus cellphone, two Samsung Note 9 phones, two iPhone X Max phones, three Samsung Note 10 phones, three Samsung S10 phones, and four iPhone XR phones. The estimated value of the stolen items is approximated to be about $20,000, however, colors and memory capacities of the stolen phones were not reported at the time. Saipan Tribune learned from an employee that the company is still conducting inventory to see if there are more stolen items.

According to an eyewitness he heard an unusual noise and immediately saw a male about 5’6” to 5’8” in height, of medium build, wearing dark clothing and a black cloth covering his face holding a black bag. Once the suspect saw the witness, he fled the scene on foot and went south. The witness chased the suspect but lost sight of him, and was able to get into a neighbor’s vehicle to find the suspect, the duo saw the suspect enter a white Toyota Highlander bearing the license plate ABZ-116. The witness followed the vehicle, but lost sight of the vehicle.

As officers made their way into Chinatown, they were held down by a parked vehicle by the Korean church in Chinatown. The individual told police that they lost sight of the white Highlander and officers notified patrol units to be on the lookout for the said vehicle as he asked the caller to meet with officers at the scene.

In the statement, DPS reminds the public to remain diligent while purchasing electronics from an unknown vehicle. Through its Facebook page, PC Bargain is requesting for the public’s help and cooperation to not buy items that are to be sold by suspicious individuals and inform the company regarding such offers.

If you have any information about the incident or have seen the vehicle, call 911, the CNMI Crime Stoppers hotline at (670)234-7272, or contact PC Bargain at (670)233-3777 or (670)789-8261.
