The Marianas Visitors Authority held the Marianas Seminar in Busan last Sept.4, 2019, to promote the destination.

Approximately 100 travel agents, land operators, airlines, and industry partners attended the event to receive updates on the market and learn about the MVA’s upcoming marketing plans in Korea.

The event was joined by 10 industry partners: Jeju Air, Saipan World Resort, Hyatt Regency Saipan, Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan, Kanoa Resort, Century Hotel, Grandvrio Resort Saipan, DFS, Alamo, and Hertz.

Rep. Joseph “Lee” Guerrero, chairman of the CNMI House Tourism Committee, and MVA managing director Priscilla M. Iakopo both offered welcoming remarks to attendees to open the seminar. Ellen Lee, MVA Travel Trade marketing manager, provided airline updates for 2019, 2019 B2B and B2C programs with marketing videos, and general information on the Marianas. Marianas partners also introduced their properties and businesses and provided updates on their services.

“Marianas Seminars in our major source markets are a key activity that allows our MVA team to share the information on our destination with travel agents,” said Iakopo. “The Busan seminar also gave agents in region the opportunity to dialogue directly and in person with the MVA and our Marianas partners and gain current travel information, which can help them in selling Marianas tour products.”

A raffle drawing at the end of the event awarded two air tickets to Saipan, five hotel stay certificates, six DFS shopping coupon, and six rental cars certificates provided by Marianas tourism partners. (PR)
