The Office of the Attorney General has filed a criminal case against Rota Mayor’s Office’s special assistant for programs and grants for allegedly importing on Rota undeclared household goods last year.

The OAG charged 31-year-old Aubry Hocog with one count of importation of contraband.

Hocog was not arrested as she was only summoned to appear yesterday before the Rota Superior Court. According to court’s calendar, her arraignment will be this Friday at 9am.

Saipan Tribune tried but failed yesterday to get comments from Hocog.

According to the information filed by assistant attorney general Frances T. Demapan, on June 17, 2018 on Rota, Hocog concealed for the purpose of importation undeclared household goods, with the total sum of the items being subject to excise tax.

Demapan said the items include seven doors, one refrigerator, one washer, one dryer, 20 tiles, one bunk bed, and four paint buckets.

The prosecutor said the offense carries a maximum punishment of five years imprisonment and $2,000 fine.
