THE MARIANAS MONSTER MASH
DCCA takes Halloween to next level
The Department of Community and Cultural Affairs is hosting The Marianas Monster Mash, a Halloween event created for our islands to showcase a variety of costumes and bring some fun and excitement to the community.
“I am really excited. This will be the first year of this event and we really wanted to coordinate something different, so that after families go collect candy at the various traditional spots, they can come down and participate in the parade. I think it will be an exciting event for our visitors and it happens to be the case this year that it’s on a Street Market Night. We are going to incorporate the costume contest, scarecrow contest, and it has a potential to be a much bigger event,” said DCCA Secretary Robert Hunter.
The Marianas Monsters Mash will officially kick off on Halloween night with a “walk, roll and dance” parade beginning at the American Memorial Park and ending at the Garapan Street Market. Following the parade, will be the Costume Contest, the announcement of the Scarecrow Show winner and Halloween Row.
DCCA invites the public to register for The Marianas Monster Mash. Registration is free and open to everyone.
