BEH temporarily shuts down 2 in August
The Bureau of Environmental Health temporarily shut down Ladder Beach Restaurant and JD Store II in August for serious violations of health and sanitation purposes. Both have since reopened.
Ladder Beach Restaurant was closed down for one day, Aug. 7, to allow BEH to re-inspect the establishment. The restaurant passed the second inspection and was able to operate the next day.
JD Store II voluntarily closed its doors last Aug. 22 and would later open and pass the BEH’s standards five days later.
The BEH makes sanitary inspections of retail food and drink serving establishments every month. BEH provides the names of establishments by inspection grade and the names of establishments that are ordered closed. For these establishments, the suspension date and the date they were certified to resume are also provided.
BEH’s classification for food safety rating are Grade A (90-100), Grade B (80-89), Grade C (70-79), and closure/suspension (69 and lower).
