Joeten 1 crushed TanHoldings 2/CTSI, 99-76, at the resumption of the 2018 JP World Corp. Customer Appreciation Basketball League last Saturday at the Gillette Multipurpose Gymnasium.
Joeten 1 played a consistent offense, scoring 20-plus points in each of the four quarters to whip TanHoldings 2/CTSI in the first match in the league since it was put on hold in October last year after Super Typhoon Yutu devastated the islands.
After leading by only 5 points, 27-22, Joeten 1 pulled away in the second period with another 27-point production, 54-33. Kevin Kabiriel scored 7 points in the second canto and got a lot of help from his teammates to hand Joeten 1 a 21-point advantage at the halftime break.
When the game resumed. Joeten 1 was still at it with Chris Lilles firing 16 of his 21 markers in the second half to lift the team to the easy victory. Lilles had 9 points in the third period, which ended with Joeten 1 comfortably ahead at 78-43.
With only a quarter left in the game and the win in the bag, Joeten 1 finally let its guard down and allowed TanHoldings 2 to pick up its scoring.
