Upcoming checkpoints

The CNMI Department of Public Safety will be conducting a total of four separate occupant protection/ child restraint checkpoints on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2019, and Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019.

Tomorrow, the first checkpoint will be on Chalan Monsignor Guerrero, San Jose to Isa Drive, San Vicente, from 8am to 9:30am.

The second checkpoint will be on Chalan Monsignor Guerrero, Dandan to Chalan Monsignor Guerrero, San Jose, from 4pm to 5:15pm.

On Thursday, the first checkpoint will be on Beach Road, Garapan to Beach Road, Chalan Kanoa, from 8:15am to 9:30am.

The second checkpoint will be on Chalan Pale Arnold, Puerto Rico to Chalan Pale Arnold, Chalan Lau Lau, from 4:30pm to 5:45pm.

The purpose of the checkpoints are to promote public safety while increasing the awareness of the dangers of not using a vehicle’s occupant protection system as well as child restraints systems while driving on the islands’ roads. Locations of these checkpoints were pre-determined based on the number of auto accidents in these areas. (PR)
