CK store robbed
An armed individual robbed the Suntinday store in Chalan Kanoa last Sunday and there is no word yet if the police has information that could help solve this case.
According to a Department of Public Safety statement yesterday, it said it received a 911 call at about 9:55am about a robbery incident at the store.
The caller, who is also the store’s cashier, told police officers who responded to the scene, that she was near the store’s main entrance when a young man pulled a knife and demanded money from her.
The cashier opened the cash register and gave the suspect the register’s cash tray. The man then grabbed all the cash from the tray, while threatening the victim that he would kill her if she leaves the store. He then bolted from the store and fled south.
The victim described the suspect as of medium build, approximately 5’6” tall, wearing a black hoodie with a pink logo printed on the front, and a pair of gray short pants.
According to DPS spokesperson Adrian Pangelinan, they have not received any video footage from Suntinday on the day of the robbery and that detectives are still investigating the case.
According to Saipan Tribune archives, the most recent robbery incident occurred last July 14 when two male individuals robbed a female tourist of her purse along Hotel Street. The suspects’ car was identified through video footage and the suspects, Wilson Celeste and Carl Steven Aldan, were arrested on July 22.
