Soccer referee course set

Northern Mariana Islands Football Association will be holding a referee course for three days, starting this Saturday.
The course, which will run from Sept. 7 to 9 at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville, will be conducted in preparation for the 2019 NMIFA Youth Fall League that will kick off next weekend. It will cover general overview and basic referee skills. Participants will learn about referees’ duties; updates on rules changes for the 2019-2020 season; and teamwork and game management. Sessions will be held both in the classroom (theoretical part) and outdoor (practice) settings.
This Saturday’s session will take place from 1pm to 9pm, while Sunday’s will run from 1pm to 6pm. The last part of the course that will be held on Sept. 9 will be from 5:30pm to 9pm. Each session will have breaks in between and refreshment and light meals will be provided.
The course is free and open to individuals in the 14 and over age group.
