The Department of Lands and Natural Resources is planning to build a boating safety warehouse and a ramp using a federal grant.

DLNR informed the Commonwealth Ports Authority recently that the warehouse and ramp will be used for rescue operations by the Division of Fish and Wildlife.

Pete P. Reyes, who chairs the CPA board’s Committee on Seaport Facilities, urged the board at a recent committee meeting to consider DLNR’s plan
According to the minutes of the meeting, board vice chair Roman Tudela stated that CPA is planning to request for proposals for the Echo Dock in Lower Base and this warehouse will be near that area.

Reyes suggested discussing the matter with DLNR.

CPA director Barrie Toves agreed with Tudela about the lack of space at Echo Dock.
