The Tan Siu Lin Foundation, the charitable arm of TanHoldings, is gearing up for its annual hosting of the “Field of Heroes,” which this year marks the 18th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy.

The “2019 We Will Never Forget: Field of Heroes” ceremony, to be held on Sept. 11 at the American Memorial Park at 5:30pm, will be preceded by the Freedom Walk. The walk begins at 5pm at the Garapan Fishing Base and will end at the AMP.

Field of Heroes is characterized mainly by the display of U.S. flags at the AMP. It pays tribute and honors the victims of the Sept. 11 terror attacks, as well as community heroes, first responders, law enforcement personnel, and military service members, and veterans. U.S. flags will be displayed for public viewing during the event.

For a small donation, receive or have a 3’x5’ flag flown to remember our heroes. Donations may be dropped off at Shirley’s Coffee Shop in Garapan or Susupe, the Tan Siu Lin Foundation office at the second floor of the JP Center on Beach Road, the mayor’ offices on Tinian and Rota, and at the Hotel Valentino’s front desk. Net proceeds from the event will go to the Northern Marianas Humanities Council to support programs that help community heroes and their families.

The Field of Heroes ceremony will also be held on Tinian on Sept. 11 at the Veterans Memorial Park at 10am, and on Rota on Sept. 17, at the Corporal Joe G. Charfauros Jr. Rota Veterans Memorial Park at 4pm.
