The Indigenous Affairs Office hosted a money-saving workshops for children last July 30, according to IAO resident executive Roman Tudela Jr.

He said the IAO workshop was in collaboration with the Youth Affairs Office.

“Children tend to spend money recklessly and it is best that they learn how to save money at a young age,” he said.

The IAO is right now working with the Northern Marianas College’s Cooperative Research Extension and Education Services for future workshops for different age groups; the previous workshop had children aged 9 to 13 years old.

“The workshop will be free, but we hope parents can be able to bring at least 25 cents for an initial deposit for the [children’s] piggy banks,” Tudela said.
For more information contact the IAO at (670) 664-2664.
