3 indicted over 50 grams of meth
A federal grand jury has indicted three persons who allegedly conspired to possess over 50 grams of methamphetamine, with the intent to sell it.
The indictment against Vince Koki Leon Guerrero, Evelyn Chon Tydingco, and Elaine Francisco Demei was filed last Aug. 1 but was unsealed only late afternoon yesterday.
According to the indictment, Leon Guerrero, Tydingco, and Demei intentionally conspired, along with other persons, to possess over 50 grams of methamphetamine between Feb. 15 and 21, 2018, with the intent to distribute.
If they are convictied of the controlled substance offense, the U.S. government wants to forfeit any money or property derived from the offense.
No other details were provided in court documents.
Leon Guerrero and Tydingco appeared with their court-appointed counsel, Steven P. Pixley and David G. Banes, respectively, during the initial appearance hearing yesterday afternoon before U.S. District Court for the NMI Magistrate Judge Heather L. Kennedy.
Assistant U.S. attorney Garth Backe appeared for the U.S. government.
With respect to Demei’s case, Backe and Demei’s court-appointed counsel Mark B. Hanson moved the court to continue the initial appearance hearing set for yesterday to the week of Aug. 19 to 23.
