3 vehicles burglarized at CK apartment complex
Police officers were dispatched to Chalan Kanoa last Sunday, Aug. 11, 2019, after the CNMI Department of Public Safety received a 911 call at about 9:32am, reporting a burglary incident at the MMC2 apartments.
Officers met the caller at the scene and learned that the victim was about to leave his apartment when he noticed that his driver door was slightly ajar. Upon entering his vehicle, he discovered that his belongings were scattered throughout the front and back seats. The victim told officers that a blue Bluetooth speaker and a black wireless headphone were missing.
At around 10:28am that same day, a second victim went to DPS to make a walk-in complaint about a burglary incident at the MMC2 apartments. Officers learned that the second victim’s belongings were scattered throughout the vehicle, and a black-and-silver HP laptop was stolen from his vehicle.
At approximately 10:39am, a male individual approached an officer at the DPS central office stating that his vehicle had been burglarized at the MMC2 apartments. The third victim stated that his belongings were scattered inside his vehicle but nothing was taken as he does not leave things of value in his car overnight.
In separate interviews, all victims mentioned that their vehicles were equipped with alarm systems, and none of them heard any alarms going off the night before.
