Survivors, caregivers support group meeting on Thursday

All people facing cancer, their family members, and caregivers are invited to the next Commonwealth Cancer Association monthly support group meeting on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019, starting at 5:30pm at the Hyatt Regency Saipan’s Chamolinian Room. Guest speaker is John Cole, director of the Crisis Counseling Program at the Commonwealth Health Care Corp..

Open house at Saipan airport

The Francisco C. Ada/Saipan International Airport will be holding an open house meeting on Aug. 21, 2019, from 6pm to 8pm, at the Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Building located at 1 Fadang at the Saipan airport. The open house will discuss the ongoing airport master plan study. The consultant team will also be available to answer questions.

Military trainings

ASAN, Guam—Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 25 will conduct training from 11am to 11:55pm on Aug. 12-15, at the Dandan-Malojloj training site in Inarajan.

HSC-25 will also conduct training at Radio Barrigada during the following dates and times:

From 3pm to 1am, Aug. 12-13
From 3pm to 1am, Aug. 13-14
From 3pm to 1am, Aug. 15-16

These types of trainings are designed to enhance the readiness of military personnel. Residents in surrounding areas should not be alarmed, if they see or hear increased activity associated with the training.

The U.S. Air Force will conduct training on Aug. 12-16, from 10:30am to 2:30pm, at the island of Farallon de Medinilla.

The general location of the training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla will be within a 12-nautical-mile radius of the island, located in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.

The U.S. Navy will conduct open-ocean exercises within a 10-nautical-mile radius of the following coordinates: 13˚26”N/145˚08”E and 13˚42”N/144˚36”E during the following dates and times:

From 3pm to 7pm, Aug. 13
From 6:30pm to 11:55pm, Aug. 14
From 10am to 7pm, Aug. 15

It is recommended the public, fishermen, and marine tour operators monitor the Coast Guard broadcast notice to mariners for advisories. (PR)
