Financial aid workshop on Friday
Northern Marianas College is inviting those looking for financial aid to attend the FAFSA Workshop on Friday, Aug. 9, 2019. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, is the form used for applying to the federal financial aid program.
Team members from NMC’s Financial Aid Office will help workshop participants fill the online application form and also answer questions about the financial aid program. The workshop will consist of three sessions at 9am, 10am, and 11am, at NMC’s computer lab in Building V in room V108.
Space is limited for the workshop. Reserve a spot in one of the three sessions by emailing Financial Aid director Daisy Propst at daisy.propst@marianas.edu or by calling the Financial Aid Office at (670) 237-6791, 6793, or 6794.
Parents and students who are attending the FAFSA workshop should know their social security number, and bring copies of their 2017 income tax returns and their 2017 W-2 (if not filing) to the workshop.
Those who fill out the FAFSA may be able to qualify for the U.S. Department of Education’s Federal Financial Aid program. The Federal Financial Aid program is the largest financial aid provider in the U.S. through its various types of grants, loans, and scholarships.
In addition to the FAFSA workshop, NMC will also be hosting a free information session from 5:30pm to 6:30pm. on Thursday, Aug. 8, at the NMC Olympio T. Borja Library at the college’s As Terlaje campus.
Those who attend will also qualify to receive a waiver of NMC’s admission application fee and placement test fees—a savings of up to $75.
