The 5th Annual International Festival of Cultures will be held on Sept. 20-21, 2019, in celebration of the cultural diversity of the Marianas, with special emphasis on the indigenous cultures of Micronesia.
The festival returns to Paseo de Marianas in the main tourist district on Saipan. A soft opening will be held on Sept. 20, from 5pm to 10pm with an ethnic parade, food sales, and demonstration and sales of arts and crafts.
On Sept. 21, from 5pm to 10pm, the festival will also feature live ethnic performances on-stage.
“In partnership with our various ethnic communities in the Marianas, we are looking forward to another great international Festival of Cultures in September,” said Marianas Visitors Authority managing director Priscilla Iakopo. “The weekend of Sept. 20-21 is not only the mid-autumn festival travel holiday in China but also a weekend when summer charter flights will be arriving from Japan, and we are looking forward to sharing our multicultural celebration with all our visitors.”
