As part of its commitment to enhance the CNMI’s reputation as a prime tourist destination, the Marianas Visitors Authority has donated $10,000 in support of the upcoming Governor’s Tournament of Champions, which will be held on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 10, and 11, 2019.
“The Governor’s Tournament of Champions is one of the premier events hosted here in the Marianas that appeals to many local and regional golfers,” said Priscilla M. Iakopo, MVA managing director. “The funds raised from the tournament are used for beautification projects, as it is important to preserve our islands’ natural beauty for our community and visitors to enjoy. Good luck to all participants and we look forward to another successful tournament.”
“The Marianas Visitors Authority has always been a key supporter of the tournament every year,” said Ben Babauta, tournament director. “We are extremely thankful for the agency’s continued support.”
The 24th Governor’s Tournament of Champions will be played at the Laolao Bay Golf and Resort’s east and west courses on Aug. 10 and 11, 2019. The two-day event is bigger, with exciting hole-in-one prizes and the chance to win thousands of dollars in possible prizes. The TOC tournament fee is $200.
