Superstore gives away free hotdogs
As part of the celebration of National Hotdog Day, Joeten Superstore in San Jose gave away free hotdogs to its first 300 customers yesterday. The company did a two-way split, with 150 hotdogs given away at 12pm and 150 more given away at 6pm.
Joeten Superstore also had a promo for its popular hotdog combo—two hotdogs and one drink—at a special price of just $3 instead of the regular $5.
The stunt was so popular that lines began to form 30 minutes before the giveaway of the free hotdogs, and the food itself saw a lot of customers lining up to buy the hotdog combo. Many of the customers said they were just happy to be part of the event.
One customer said that he lined up at the Joeten Superstore an hour prior to the giveaway, as he was afraid that the lines would be too long. He realized that he was on time and was happy to be able to grab a free hotdog before they ran out. He also bought two combos for his family.
Employees were also happy at the number of customers filling up the store in celebration of National Hotdog Day. One employee informed Saipan Tribune that the crowd cleared the tray of free hotdogs in a matter of seconds, as many had lined up earlier.
Joeten Superstore manager Mike Yang urged the public to follow the superstore’s social media pages on Facebook (Joeten Superstore) and Instagram (@joetensuperstore).
According to the National Day Calendar, National Hotdog day is celebrated in July as a “summertime staple on a bun.” However, other places celebrate this day by paying homage to the different varieties of hotdogs.
