Rotary Club of Saipan International Service director Greg Borja announced in the club’s regular Tuesday meeting that the Interact Club, the high school counterpart of the Rotary Club, will be hosting a beach cleanup tomorrow at the San Antonio Beach Park, and is inviting the public to participate.

The cleanup at Pakpak Beach will begin at 7am and organizers hope it will be done in about an hour and a half.

This project by the Interact Club is through the Marianas Visitors Authority’s “Beautify My Marianas” program. It enables groups to raise money by giving them the opportunity to clean up designated sites. Beautify My Marianas offers $100 for each cleanup.

Borja said the Interact Club will use the funds raised for future projects.

Interested participants must wear bright clothing, shoes (no open-toed shoes), gloves, and long pants. Children under 18 must have adult supervision, and one adult supervisor must be present for every five minors.

The Rotary Club will be helping the Interact Club with the beach cleanup and will also paint the bus stop that the club sponsors on Middle Road at 9am.
