Public aid sought in identifying car used in robbery

On Sunday, July 14, 2019, at about 7:22pm, the Department of Public Safety received a 911 call about a robbery incident that occurred at about 7pm, along Plumeria Avenue.
At about 7:32pm, officers met with a female tourist who claimed to be the caller. The woman told the officers that she and her daughter were walking back to their hotel after having dinner at a nearby restaurant when she noticed a red sedan pull up behind her and park on the roadway. As she continued walking, somebody grabbed her purse from behind. Upon turning around, she saw a male individual in a black jacket and a pair of black long pants get into the backseat of a red sedan with her purse. The sedan then fled the scene, heading north along Plumeria Avenue.
Police were able to obtain a recording of the incident from a nearby security camera, showing the vehicle used in this incident—a red four-door Nissan Sentra.
The contents of the victim’s purse include her Chinese passport, a watch (brand and color not reported), the victim’s credit cards, about $1,000 in U.S. currency, and a couple of telephone cards.
