STEEP showcase event on July 12
The Guam Community College’s Sustainable Technologies and Environmental Education Program (STEEP) will be conducting a showcase event of student projects on Friday, July 12, 2019 from 9am to 1pm at the GCC Learning Resource Center (LRC).
Students enrolled in STEEP have engaged in highly interactive, technical and hands-on activities that revolve around the topics of sustainability, technology and art. Some of the projects students have worked on include building robots, drones, wind turbines, photovoltaic systems, bridges and they even designed and built a solar pergola. Students are between the ages of 13-17 years old.

Guam back-to-school immunization outreach on July 27
The Guam Department of Public Health and Social Services announces that there will be a Back-to-School Immunization Clinic on Saturday, July 27, 2019 from 10am to 12pm, or while supplies last, at the Micronesia Mall (center court). The line formation will begin at Entrance #2 next to Denny’s and will continue towards Entrance #1 next to Macy’s Women.
The clinic is for children 4-18 years of age, and limited to those with Medicaid, MIP, or no insurance. All necessary immunizations will be given. Parents must bring their child’s most current shot record. All children below 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or an adult with written authorization and photo ID.

BMV will be closed 3:30pm on July 11
Tomorrow, July 11, 2019 the Bureau of Motor Vehicle will be closed from 3:30pm through 4:30pm for a staff briefing relating to immigration and the Real I.D. Act amendment.
The Bureau of Motor Vehicle will re-open the following day Friday, July 12, 2019 to resume normal department operations. (PR)
Two from USCIS to offer workshops
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Western Regional Community Relations lead Jennifer Lane and Honolulu Community Relations officer Kamana Mathur will present two workshops at the Joeten Kiyu Public Library today, July 10, from 3:30pm to 5pm. Survivors, caregivers support meeting tomorrow
All people facing cancer, their family members, and caregivers are invited to the next Commonwealth Cancer Association monthly support meeting tomorrow, July 11, 2019, starting at 5:30pm at the Hyatt Regency Saipan’s Chamolinian Room. USCIS reps at July SHRM meeting
The membership meeting of the Society for Human Resource Management NMI Chapter tomorrow, July 11, 2019, will feature U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services representatives who will talk about the E-Verify program and form I-9. The meeting will take place at the Hyatt Regency Saipan’s ballroom beginning at 11am.
Rea Bisa, USCIS management and program analyst, Kamana Mathur, USCIS community relations officer, and Jennifer Lane, regional community relations lead, will do a 30-minute presentation followed by a 30-minute question-and-answer session.
This meeting is open to the public. The presentation includes a lunch buffet at the cost of $20 for SHRM members and $30 for non-members. CHamoru commission meetings
The Kumisión i Fino’ CHamoru yan i Fina’nå’guen i Historia yan i Lina’la’ Taotao Tåno’ (Commission on CHamoru Language and the Teaching of History and Culture of the Indigenous People of Guam) will hold its monthly meetings on July 11 and 25, 2019, 12:30pm to 3pm at the Kumision office, The Garden House, Plasa de Espana, Hagatna.
A work session will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2019, from 12:30pm to 3pm, at the same venue to discuss the GDOE CHamoru Language Teachers CHamoru Language Orthography.
