The Tan Siu Lin Foundation is on board with Exquisite Productions Marianas for the first-ever staging of the Miss Earth Northern Marianas pageant.
The TSL Foundation, the charity arm of TanHoldings Corp., donated $2,500 for the pageant that will be held tomorrow, June 22, at the Hyatt Regency Saipan ballroom (the former Sandcastle), starting at 6pm. Eight candidates will be vying for the Miss Earth Northern Marianas 2019 crown and the honor to lead its advocacy for the preservation and protection of the environment.
“Congratulations to Exquisite Productions Marianas for bringing the Miss Earth pageant to the Marianas. We are one with Miss Earth Northern Marianas pageant in raising awareness and organizing projects that aim to protect our environment,” said TanHoldings chief executive officer Jerry Tan. “We are fortunate to live [on] a beautiful island and we must keep it that way for future generations.”
Exquisite Productions Marianas president Dee Clayton is pleased to have the TSL Foundation and other members of the business community as supporters of the inaugural pageant.
“On behalf of Exquisite Productions Marianas officials, we would like to welcome the Tan Siu Lin Foundation as one of our sponsors. We thank them for their generosity and support,” Clayton said. “We look forward to our continued partnership, as we promote environmental awareness and love for our beautiful home island through this pageant.”
The Miss Earth Northern Marianas 2019 candidates are Nicole Malakai, Leisha Deleon Guerrero, Joanna Navarro, Mary Joy Masongsong, Jessme Jones, Jan Zowie Cruz, Pheona David, and Kat Johnson. Four crowns representing earth, air, fire, and water would be handed out, along with the Miss Earth Northern Marianas 2019 title. This year’s Miss Earth Northern Marianas will represent the Commonwealth at the 19th Miss Earth in November, with the venue yet to be announced.
Besides preparing for the pageant, the eight candidates kept themselves busy with leading and participating in activities—such as tree planting and beach cleanup—that focus on taking care of the environment and promoting the islands as a tourist destination.
“The Tan Siu Lin Foundation stands behind these beautiful and smart women who use their skills and talents for a good cause. Indeed, they are beauties with a purpose. We would like to wish all of them the best of luck in tomorrow’s pageant,” said TSL Foundation executive director Merlie Tolentino. (PR)
