Have you ever wondered how the Super Typhoon Yutu affected the CNMI’s young children?

Second-graders at Grace Christian Academy have written and illustrated a book, The Strongest Wind, about their Yutu experience as a Language Arts project.

The 17-page children’s book narrates the true-to-life experience of two children—a 7- and 8-year-old—sharing what they saw, heard, felt during the earth’s strongest storm that hit Saipan in October 2018.

“We want to remember these moments and keep it for future generations to understand,” said Miriam Dilse, second grade homeroom teacher. “Another thing to remember is that a great calamity could bring out the best in people. Children have seen the community and people from various organizations come together to help rebuild our island. Their act of heroism moved us and it is definitely stronger than the strongest storm on earth.” (PR)
