SHRM meeting today moves to Hyatt ballroom

The Society for Human Resource Management-NMI Chapter invites the public to its general membership meeting today, June 20, 2019, at Hyatt Regency Saipan’s ballroom beginning at 11am. The meeting was originally set at the Giovanni’s restaurant but due to the increased number of participants, the venue was moved to the Hyatt Regency Saipan ballroom, the former Sandcastle.

The meeting will feature University of Guam’s Dr. John Rivera discussing emotional intelligence in the workplace.

Youth summer program now at max capacity

The number of participants who will join the 2019 Youth Affairs #ILOVEMYYOUTHCENTER Summer Program has reached maximum capacity for pre-registrations and has a very long waitlist.  The CNMI Office of Youth Affairs, which is hosting the program, is no longer accepting registrations. 

The program’s activities will be held simultaneously at the Chalan Kanoa Man’hoben Center and the Gualo Rai Youth Learning Center on weekdays (Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm) from June 24 to Aug. 1, 2019. The centers will be closed on weekends and July 4, 5, and 19.

Youth Pride Walk on Friday

The public invited to the first ever Youth Pride Walk on Friday, June 21, 2019 starting at 2pm at the Carolinian Utt in Garapan. This event aims to show support to the LGBTQ+ youth as well as increase awareness of the issues faced by the LGBTQ+ community. Before the walk begins, there will be face painting and sign making, and free “PRIDE” pins and other items will be given away. The walk will start at 3pm from the Carolinian Utt to the Paseo de Marianas for the Rainbow Walk unveiling and proclamation signing. (PR)

MHS Class of ’89 reunion

All classmates and their families from MHS Class of ’89 are being invited to a 30th year reunion.  The Reunion Mass is on Thursday, June 20, 2019, at 5pm at the Kristo Rai Church. We are inviting families of our deceased classmates to join us to also light their memorial candles during Mass. Immediately after the Mass, there will be a reunion gathering at the residence of the Ivan Propst couple in Susupe. On Saturday, June 22, 2019, All Class of ’89 and their families are invited to a family reunion picnic at Minachom Atdåo, Civic Center Beach beginning at 9am. Comments sought on COTA policy update

The Commonwealth Office of Transit Authority is updating its Limited English Proficiency Policy Plan and Public Participation Plan. A copy of the LEP and the Public Participation Plan can be obtained at COTA. Written comments must be submitted directly to COTA, Suite 216, Marianas Business Plaza, Susupe, Saipan or via email to: alfreda.camacho@gov.mp no later than July 1, 2019, 2pm.
