Staff of the Healthy Outcomes for Maternal and Early-childhood (H.O.M.E.) Visiting Program of the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.’s Public Health and Maternal and Child Health recently participated in a Tier 1 certification training on the Growing Great Kids curriculum.
Abby Belza, a licensed Growing Great Kids trainer, facilitated the five-day training from Feb. 24 to 28 2014.

Growing Great Kids is an interactive training in all segments of the GGK module. The home visitor staff and their supervisor were able to successfully transfer what was learned into job skills and competency building.

During the five-day training, Belza assigned a module in order to facilitate a strength-based approach and solution focused on home visitor staff and their supervisor with participating families. Evaluation on their performances exceeded expectation. Successfully completing this Tier 1 certification allows the CHCC’s staff to go to the next two Tiers certification process. Completing all three Tiers of the Growing Great Kids curriculum with the program participants will ultimately benefit stakeholders in the CNMI. (CHCC)
