Registration open for free summer camp

The Office of the Governor’s Department of Community and Cultural Affairs, Division of Youth Services, in partnership with the Carolinian Affairs Office, is hosting the annual Summer Youth Empowerment Camp beginning July.

The first session will take place at the Tanapag Youth Center, from July 8 to 18, from 7:30am to 11:30am, followed by the second session at the San Isidro Youth Learning Center, from July 22 to Aug. 1, from 7:30am to 11:30am. Participants can register for only one campsite, must be 6 to 12 years of age, and must complete the registration requirements to confirm their spot. Capacity for each campsite is 65 persons.

In addition, youth ages 13-17 years old are welcome to apply for volunteer work by completing the application requirements and attending the mandatory orientation on July 2 at 9am, at the DYS office in Chalan Piao.

The summer camp is made possible by the Office of the Governor’s Department of Community and Cultural Affairs, Division of Youth Services, and the Carolinian Affairs Office, in partnership with DCCA Sports and Recreation Division, DCCA Commonwealth Council for Arts and Culture, PSS Food and Service Program, Commonwealth Health Care Corp., Hinemlu O’hala Para Enteramenti Recovery Center, and Hali’ Inaguaiya Systems of Care.
