Marianas High School Glee Club performed their last concert for the school year last June 3 at the MHS cafeteria.
Despite the delays from Super Typhoon Yutu, student director Clarisse Torio said she didn’t want to “end this school year without doing a show.”
Despite the challenges after the typhoon, club members continued rehearsals and kept performing at different events. They also practiced for their last concert for about a month to “keep the club alive.”
“Every member loves being in glee,” Torio said. “It’s not just singing. [We’re] expressing our feelings through…music.”
The other members of the club are: Mikaella Cunanan, Lesly Ibarra, Jenine Perena, Alexa Dumagan, Macy Manzanares, Sydney Manzanares, Angela Barbo, Donna Galvez, Sommer Gomez, Katrina Guevarra, Juliet Inocencio, Samila Sevugan, Brent Espineda, Gio Sagana, Clayton Izuka, Matthew Manuel, James Reyes, Jefferson Cunanan, Kristian Itaas, and Ethan Mresbang.
Torio is also a graduating high school senior, and will be attending Columbia College Chicago for a musical theatre degree.
The MHS Glee Club will be competing at the 2019 International Thespian Festival at Lincoln, Nebraska this summer.
