Court grants partial judgment in favor of FISG

The Superior Court granted last week a partial default judgment in the sum of $1,068.43 in favor of Financial and Insurance Services Group, Inc. following a lawsuit filed against Albert R. Moolang.

Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph Camacho granted partially and denied partially the requested fees in the lawsuit filed by FISG against Moolang.

The lawsuit was filed with the Superior Court in March.

Moolang failed to appear before the court to plead or defend himself so the court entered a default judgement in favor of FISG.

According to the order, the court granted FISG’s requests for the principal sum due of $843.43 and the filing cost of $225. The court also granted post-judgement interest of 9 percent per annum.

However, the court denied FISG’s request for late fees worth $50, attorneys fees, and also denied the request for pre-judgement interest of 24 percent per annum worth $89.84.

The court found that Moolang did breach his contract with FISG because he failed to pay off his loan of $4,004.45 that he borrowed back in 2015. The principal amount still remaining was $843.43, that the court granted a judgement for in favor of FISG.

The court, however had to deny some of FISG’s other requests because the evidence provided was not sufficient to warrant judgment in their favor.

Saipan Tribune erroneously reported in a previous article that Express Financial filed the lawsuit against Moolang, but it was actually Financial and Insurance Services Group, Inc. that filed the complaint.
