Officials from the Kosrae Community Health Center visited the Kagman Community Health Center last week to learn about the Kagman clinic’s fiscal set up as an independent health center.

The Kosrae delegation consisted of its chief executive officer, Nena Tolenoa, three board members, and their finance manager.

“As part of a health center health survey, we found that our community wants the Kosrae health center to become an independent health center like the Kagman Community Health Center,” said Tolenoa. “We want to learn more from your organization to help us in our plan to manage our own finances.”

The Kagman Community Health Center did presentations on finance, human resources, operations, including the KCHC board’s paperless meeting system and then walked them through any areas of concern.

The delegation also had a chance to meet with some of the Kagman clinic’s board members. In the meeting, the Kagman Community Health Center board chair, Velma Palacios, suggested that the two organizations can become sister health centers through a memorandum of agreement so that information can be shared freely between the two. The Kosrae delegation was very excited about this and are eager to get things moving. (PR)
