DFS T Galleria Saipan has brought to Saipan the fashion-forward British brand “Boy London” with a launching ceremony last Friday at what the company bills as its Excitement Zone within the T Galleria mall in Garapan.

The launch of the Boy London kiosk was graced by not just residents and tourists alike and officials of DFS T Galleria, but also by several models who hobnobbed with the guest in a variety of Boy London outfits.

According to Svetlana Hunter, T Galleria’s assistant general manager for sales, Boy London is a good addition to the new mix of stores that will eventually fill the T Galleria.

“We are trying to appeal to a wide range of customers—both locals and tourists alike—and that is why we are continuously renovating and adding new shops,” she said.

She described Boy London as a legendary British streetwear brand known for its contribution to punk rock culture from the ’70’s up to today.

“Pop culture idols like Madonna, Billy Idol, [and] Depeche Mode wore this brand. …From punk rock fashion, it developed in time into a fashion subculture. Now it is worn by pop idol Rhianna, rapper Wiz Khalifa and a lot of K-Pop stars, which makes it more relevant to the generation now,” she added.

Streetwear apparel range from cropped shirts, hooded jackets, and jogger pants, to shorts and accessories like caps and bags.

“The brand caters to a wide range of customers and not just the young generation” she said. In fact, the brand carries that islandwear vibe and style that are both trendy and colorful, Hunter added.

Boy London model Michelle Galang, who is a student at the Northern Marianas College, said the clothes are comfortable and definitely wearable on island.

“Each piece can be matched with anything. I encourage everyone out there to venture out to a new brand…the vibe is really cool, fun and will bring out one’s carefree personality,” she added.

Boy London at T Galleria currently has its spring/summer collection.
