NWS: Isolated rain showers approaching

A small measure of relief is in sight for drought-stricken areas in the Marianas.

According to a post on the Facebook page of the National Weather Service in Guam, its radar is lighting up with showers on approach to the Marianas—for the first time in seven days.

“Isolated showers are slowly working their way in from the east, all associated with that weak disturbance north of Chuuk. We’ll have a better chance of showers over the next several days-but likely not a drought buster. However, any rain we get, we can certainly use as drought conditions worsen across the region,” the NWS statement adds.

That will likely be the first with measurable rainfall in a week. So far this month, NWS has received only 0.09 inches of rain in Guam. (Saipan Tribune)
